Dolores (Dee) Lauterbach |

Grand Marias, MI resident, Dolores Rita (Spinks) Lauterbach, 92, formerly of West Carrollton and Dayton, Ohio, passed away surrounded by loving family on January 21, 2007 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry.Dee was a graduate of West Carrollton High School and after retirement, being too busy to grow old, attended classes at Wright State University. Her elegance and sparkling personality led her to a fulfilling career in Dayton with Charles of the Ritz Cosmetics at Rikes-Kumler Department Store and in the couture department at The Union. In later years she was a print and commercial model with Jo Goenner Talents before retiring at the age of 80. She was an active member of Kappa Delta Phi Sority and a volunteer at Cox Arboretum. At the age of 87, Dee moved north to Grand Marais, Michigan where she greatly appreciated the community's welcome and the many dear friends she made there. She was preceded in death by her father Clyde Spinks, her mother Anna Gaffney Spinks, three brothers, one sister, and her husband Eejay Lauterbach. Dee is survived by her daughter Lucy Ann (Robert) Pine of Grand Marais, MI, son Clyde Barry (Marjorie) McNabb of Germantown, OH, and brother William Spinks of Dayton, OH; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderfully caring staff at Helen Joy Newberry Hospital in Newberry, Michigan. Those who wish may contribute to the Grand Marais Women's Club and Friend's of the Library. Cremation services have been accorded, a memorial service was held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Grand Marais with Reverend Paul Mallory officiating.
