MATILDA (TILLIE) METDEPENNINGEN |
||
| Tillie Metdepenningen, age 93, passed away near midnight on Tuesday, January 23, at the Medilodge Health Care Facility in Monroe, MI. She was born on March 16, 1913 and was the loving aunt of Kathleen Corrello and sister-in-law to Margaret Kacso. Tillie first came to Grand Marais in the 1940’s when she and her husband purchased property on what was then East Bay where they had a cabin built which they enjoyed and owned for many years. She moved to Grand Marais permanently in 1990 and lived in a small house on Wilson Street for 13 years. She enjoyed baking and taking “goodies” over to her friends. She loved living in her little house and enjoyed feeding the deer and birds and other animals that came into her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband and both of her children. For the past couple of years she has resided at the Medilodge Health Care Facility in Monroe, MI., where a funeral service was held on January 27th. She was a member of the Grand Marais United Methodist Church and a memorial service will be forthcoming in the near future. In lieu of flowers anyone who wishes to remember her kind ways and her life may give a donation in her name to the church’s Memorial Fund. | ||
